The organisers of the 2015 Pirelli SA Bike of the Year competition are proud to announce the signing of three supporting sponsors to further enhance the status of the competition.
Lubricant company Liqui Moly, leaders in engine protection technology, will be protecting the bikes internally and keeping them looking their best externally with its range of lubricants and bike cleaning products.
GPS manufacturer TomTom will ensure that the judges stay on the right track during the event by fitting each finalist bike with one of their Rider motorcycle GPS units. Also, TomTom will be showcasing new on-board camera technology for the judges to sample during the event.
And, last but by no means least, Total SA have come on board as fuel sponsor for the event.
In a statement, the organisers of the event said; “We wanted the competition first and foremost to reflect the hard work the motorcycle industry is doing in South Africa and to give recognition to those manufacturers who are constantly innovating and moving motorcycling in general forward.
“But there is a whole supporting cast in motorcycling and these are the many accessory companies who exist to bring ever more choice to the motorcyclist. We thought it appropriate to offer them the opportunity to participate as a way of showing our appreciation and enabling them to enjoy the media exposure that the competition enjoys.
“Likewise, bringing Total SA into the fold is acknowledgement on their part of the importance of motorcycling in South Africa and the need to promote it as sustainable transport for the future.
‘We’re fortunate to have such forward thinking companies as Liqui Moly, TomTom and Total SA that work tirelessly for the benefit of motorcyclists and we welcome them into the South African Bike of the Year for 2015 and, hopefully, beyond.”
The three day judging event will take place in the second week of August and the winner will be announced the following week.
